One of the things I love about being Green Grandma is having the opportunity to try a wide variety of eco-friendly products. I recently rearranged my bedroom a bit. When I moved a certain piece of furniture, I discovered that one of my previous kitties must have had a fond affection for peeing on the corner where it sat. Uh oh. My rug showed the telltale signs... and someone else was about to stay in my room when I left town for vacation. What to do, what to do?! Ahh, I had a handy-dandy can of Clean+Green® to review. Here was my perfect opportunity. I read the instructions out loud to my husband. "There is no way you can spray that on the rug and it's going to get clean without scrubbing," he said. "But that's what the can says," I countered. And then I tried it, lightly spraying the years-old stain. I gasped as I watched the stain lift away and disappear... leaving me with clean carpet where there once was cat urine stains. Insane. Really. My husband didn't believe it. "You had to do something else," he stated emphatically. But I hadn't. I simply sprayed. Admittedly, it took two applications to completely eliminate the stain, but that was nothing compared to what I used to go through. Plus, there was absolutely no odor. None. For a former pass-out-when-you-inhale-it Spot Shot fan, I am delighted beyond belief. This stuff really works, without the dangerous chemicals I'd grown accustomed to throughout the years! Clean+Green® is my only go-to solution from here out for cleaning any kind of pet stains on my carpets, hardwood floors, and upholstery, whether it's urine, feces, vomit or hairballs, although it better not be the former two with Vincent or Theo Van Gogh, two of the cleanest pets we've ever had. I don’t love washing out the litter boxes – dumping the litter, washing and drying the boxes and putting new litter back in.
But, alas, today on my “to do” list it says: “wash litter boxes!”
In our house we have a few boxes with litter and one box, just for our problem cat Romeo, that is lined with paper towels. He prefers this for peeing. (He poops on litter. Weird, but who am I to judge?)
I’m pretty fastidious when it comes to keeping those boxes clean in between major scrubbings. Two of the boxes are in my home office so the minute someone uses one it gets scooped and cleaned. Pets create stains and smells. We love them to death, but don't tell me you haven't stepped in something squishy and hopped on one foot across the room to rinse your foot in the tub. Thankfully my cats don't "go" outside the litter boxes; however, one of my little darlings loves to practically inhale her food, resulting in the occasional vomit puddle. Look familiar?
When we built our house ten years ago we knew we wanted carpet that would sort-of, kind-of hide stains...after all, we shared our home with cats AND small children. If someone spilled juice or peed (cats or kids), we did our best to clean the mess and then hoped no one noticed the stains because of our awesome camoflaugey berber carpet. Stains happened, we scrubbed, and the carpet pretty effectively hid the aftermath. But was the stain really gone? Probably not. I did the best with what I knew and what I had on hand. I am grateful for this carpet with every fiber (carpet humor...haha) of my being, but it would be nice to have a cleaner that is safe for kids and pets and does a nice job removing stains and odors.

After spraying on a hidden area to test for color fastness and removing excess liquid from the impending stain, I sprayed the cleaner directly on the area and allowed it to dry. There was no need to scrub!

Although I am pretty pleased with the results, I may actually try a third time. What I love about this product is I don't have to worry about my cats smelling or licking something that may be harmful for them. My kids are teenagers now so I hope I don't have to be concerned about them going around smelling and licking the carpet. Teenagers are known to exhibit pretty strange behavior, though... Full disclosure:We are never paid for our reviews. We clean five litter boxes once a day and one of our boys makes stinky poops. One spray of Litter Box and the lingering odor vanished. Next, the big test. Merlin had vomited outside a litter box. Excuse the pic: It’s not pretty. We knew the products were on their way so we waited a couple days. The vomit dried and hardened on the painted wood floor. I was not optimistic that something natural could clean this mess.
I sprayed the Wood + Tile cleaner, waited and wiped with a rag. Wow. It needed on more spritz and not only was it clean, it didn’t leave any odor.
I was sold but how would the Furniture Refresher work on a mattress with cat pee? It worked like a dream. I’m no clean freak but I got really excited. What else would these products do? He prefers to poop on the floor of our basement rather than in the litter box, which is just about three feet away from his chosen spot. It's embarrassing to admit, but it happens.
The covered litter box is stinky enough on its own. We manage it by keeping it out of the way in the utility room and changing the litter frequently. Because we take such good care of the litter box, we've had a pretty high level of frustration over Petey's bathroom habits.

We've really put the product to the test in the past couple of weeks. I'm pretty impressed with it. As soon as we clean Petey's mess up, we spray the area. The odor stops. I also spray the litter box, which Petey still uses to urinate and our other cat uses for everything. It's nice to walk into the utility room and not smell cat smells.
The folks at Clean + Green also sent a sample of Carpet & Upholstery cleaner. With 3 boys, 2 cats and a dog, there are lots of deodorizing opportunities in our home. I've successfully put that to good use to remove the dog smells from our living room furniture. (Maggie is not supposed to be on the couch, but we all know how that goes when we're not home.)

We recently had the opportunity to try out Clean + Green all natural pet products. I was really excited to try the carpet cleaner. This past week Melebelly had a couple of hair balls that left a “lovely” stain on the carpet in our bedroom. I was really worried that I was not going to be able to remove the ugly stain from our cream colored carpets. As soon as the Clean + Green Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner came in I used it on the stain. My cat is a clean freak. So am I. He hates a dirty litter box. I hate smelling it. I clean Zorro's litter box at least 2 times a day if I don't he gets mad and does it on the floor. Which is usually never since I accommodate his needs and scoop it after he goes.. Even long after I scoop the litter box there is still lingering odors left from urine and feces. For the longest time I was using baking soda after I scooped but it just got to messy and left a lot of dust around the litter box area. That's why I like Clean + Green's Litter Box Refresher. There is no messy powders. Even though it is fragrance free it works. I scooped, sprayed, and came back and hour later and smelled no funky odors near the litter box. Plus I like it because I can use it on the our linoleum.
OK I got most of it up with a paper towel before I snapped the pic. I used the Carpet and Upholstery cleaner on the stain. I let it sit for about 2-3 minutes and used a brush to scrub it. This is the end result:
All gone! Wow...this stuff is amazing. I'm not just saying that either. I have used a lot of carpet cleaners. A lot of them geared toward pets that claim to get out pet stains and odors, But I have to say Clean + Green is truly awesome.

First, a tip - which I'm ashamed to admit we learned too late in my house - do NOT put your cat's litter box on a carpeted surface. I can almost guarantee that the cat will eventually treat the carpet around the litter box as part of the litter box.
Even though we moved the litter box to a tiled floor, our kitties occasionally returned to use the spot where the litter box used to be as an alternative bathroom.

The first application reduced the stain by about 80%. The next day, I sprayed again, and by afternoon, the stain was completely gone.

I chose to try the carpet and upholstery cleaner. I have a problem cat that does not always go in the litter box. I have tried numerous products for the urine smell. When I first tried Clean+Green, I was very impressed. I made sure the area was dry and I sprayed it on. That was it! No soaking, extracting, rinsing or scrubbing. The stream came out fast and strong. I bent down and gave the carpet a sniff. The smell was gone instantly. The odor was not masked by nasty fragrances either. It left a sort of sweet refreshing smell. So, I left the spot to dry and came back the next day. There was still a faint odor because I am sure the cat urine was pretty deep into the carpet. I gave it another round and that took care of the odor in that area, so I moved on to another spot.
Here is where I put it to the real test. Our cat has his favorite "go to" area (more like "go pee" area). Thankfully, I am able to lift up the carpet. I found that he has peed there more than once and it is going through to the carpet padding. I started by soaking up what I could with a towel and making sure it was dry. Then I carefully sprayed each layer. Right away Clean+Green helped to take away some of the discoloration in the padding. After one more application it has helped take away most of the smell. It has done better than any other product I have tried. We have a wood floor under the carpet. I have been pouring other cleaners onto the stains repeatedly, which is keeping the carpet and padding in a continuous wet state. That is not good news for the wood underneath. With Clean+Green, I don’t have that problem. I think with the propellant spray design it is more concentrated and needs less water. Therefore, it cuts down on cleaning and drying time.

What do I ♥ about it?
I love that it is natural and safe. It is biodegradable, water soluble and fragrance free! The ingredients are: Cane sugar derivatives, proprietary blend of botanical extracts, hydrated cellulose (cleaning agents) purified water and nitrogen.
I love how easy it is to use! With a toddler running around it is hard to find time to clean up such a stinky mess. With Clean+Green I was able to pull up the carpet, spray, and be done in less than 15 minutes.
What would I change?
I would like to see larger sizes available in the future. It says the can is recyclable but I don't know how I would do that where I live. Most consumers tend to throw bottles and cans away if they don't know how to recycle them. So, larger cans would mean less waste and more wonderful product!
What do I think overall?
It is nice to find someone who is dedicated enough to create and share great products (ones that are safe and efficient). I highly recommend Clean+Green and plan to use it again in the future. I would like to try the Auto Cleaner and the Litter Box Order Eliminator.

The Critique
I received a can of Furniture Refresher for Dogs to use on the sofa protector that’s embedded with doggie B.O. Hercules thinks the sofa is his day bed while we’re out of the house and has no problem rubbing himself all over the cover. I loathe to sit on the sofa, in fact a rarely ever do just because it stinks.
After following the instructions to prep the product for use (nothing complicated, just align the nozzle with the dot on the can lip) I generously sprayed the half of the cover so that it was damp, but not soaked and let it air dry. Immediately after spraying I did notice that the doggie B.O. was disappearing from the sprayed side. After 15 minutes, the smell of Hercules was gone from the sprayed side of the cover. However, while the furniture refresher did eliminate the dog odor, it left behind a trace scent. Nothing overpowering, but it did smell slightly odd, can’t describe it, but it was definitely ‘better’ than dog B.O.! And after a couple of days I didn’t even notice it.
I also got a can of Small Animal All Purpose and used it for the litter box. As all cat lovers know….the litter box and the trash that we empty those kitty clumps into REALLY, REALLY STINK. And I never hear the end of it from the hubby.
Just sprayed this about 15 seconds over litter box and the trash and POOF! We all could breathe again when walking pass (at least for a little while). But, just as with the furniture refresher, it did have that odd trace scent afterwards. But as I said, it’s nothing compared to the stink.

We have three cats and cleaning up after them is much like cleaning up after a child some days! They are certainly part of the family and every family member makes messes in the house. Unfortunately, kitty messes can be quite smelly. Litter boxes build up urine odors, hairballs and vomit stain the carpets, and their dander can add stinking up the furniture. Only dogs could be smellier!
With a baby in the house we not only want to clean up cat messes, we want to do it in a safe way. When we checked on it, there were still a few chunks of haiball vomit on the carpet, but the stain was no longer visible.
The Litter Box spray and the Furniture Refresher were just as easy to use. The Litter Box spray didn’t make a noticeable difference on a box currently in use, but it will likely work better when it is time for a complete litter change out and litter box scrub. The Furniture Refresher doesn’t have a scent, but seemed to help the furniture smell okay for a few hours. Our furniture has stain guard and doesn’t really absorb water or other liquids. Sometimes these products don’t work the same on our upholstery, it seems.

Since we moved into a house with hardwood floors, I try to keep them as clean as possible but with kids and a dog, it seems almost impossible! There are very few hardwood floor cleaners that actually work on smells. Obviously many will make it look nice but when the dog has an accident or the kids (gotta love potty training!), sometimes nothing works. I have a cat named Bella. She is about 4 years old. She was mine first then we met hubby. We were a packaged deal. Taking care of a pet is a responsibility. The wood + tile cleaner is amazing, too! I spray around my cat's litter box and I never smell a thing on the wood! As a Mama of 3, I don't get to sweep up after her every day~ there just isn't enough time. So, the pine litter sits, pee soaked, on the wood until I remember to sweep it up. With the wood and tile cleaner, I simply spray around her box and go! SERIOUSLY~ no wiping up! That sounds so silly but when you chase 3 girls around all day, you don't always have time to wipe up! I am happy to report that there is no urine smell on my wood flooring!
And, finally, my most favorite product of all~ the litter box cleaner! I seriously use this product all the time~ and will be buying more when it runs out! The beauty of this product is that it can be used 2 different ways. You can spray it directly over the litter for a super fast freshen up or you can spray it directly on the box when you're changing the litter. I use it all the time when I change the litter! It is so effective that I don't even smell her litter anymore! Face it, some cats are stinkier than others and some people need a little extra help keeping their feline friends bathroom clean between changes. I am one of those people! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this product!!

I am the proud parent of two spoiled cats. Although they bring lots of joy to our lives, they also bring odors. My nine year old cat is nervous and ,to put it politely, unsocial. I could remove the chair cover and wash it but I still had the unpleasant aroma of cat urine on my chair lining. I had tried several methods to remove the odor with no success. This may not seem like the ideal Christmas gift for your mom, but if your mom has a cat like my mom, then Clean+Green products are for her. You see, I had a cat when I was still living at my moms house. My Review:
We have one cat in our home, and she is litterbox trained, so she doesn't really have accidents that stain our carpets. BUT, we have visitors with pets that stop by often, and sometimes they have accidents. We are fortunate in a way that they tend to "do their business" in the kids rooms or hallway because we have older carpet in those areas that the kids have pretty much destroyed anyway, but the rest of the main floor has new carpet from the Great Flood of Jan 11 that the insurance replaced.
I am normally pretty laid back about things, but getting brand new carpets was a huge ordeal, and I am so thankful to have nice, new carpet in the house, and I just don't want it messed up. Yet, I don't want to forbid people to bring pets into my house either, though there are a couple that I have had to do so with because they have accidents ALL.THE.TIME. We have three cats, that's right three. We didn't plan on having that many or even one for that matter. Turns out, we are suckers for a sad story. Gizmo and Jinx are from the same litter. There was a feral momma cat who had a litter near our apartment building. We grabbed Gizmo then a couple weeks later took in her brother Jinx so she could have a friend. The third is Pixie. This weekend we spent a lot of time at home cleaning. It was a great weekend for it, and the mancats helped out. Okay, I have to say it out loud. I haven't been a responsible pet owner. I have had Blackie Chan for 3 years now and have still not had him neutered. I know. I KNOW!!! It is irresponsible. In my defense though, there are no spay/neuter clinics close to my house, they are all like an hour away and I have to have the cat there at 6 a.m.! I used to use that as an excuse a lot...until my awesome neighbor who has the energy of five Energizer bunnies told me she made the trip for her cat a few months ago. She's got kids and a job and all of the issues I have, but she was responsible and did the right thing. And now I need to finally get my cat crap together and do the right thing too. For my cat and for my neighbors. Also because "Kitty Karma" paid me back in spades a few weeks ago for not taking care of Blackie Chan's maleness.
Here's how Blackie Chan's Ninja attack went down. We're all sitting in the family room one day, watching TV. Blackie is getting a major rubdown by Big Brother and loving life. You could here him purring all the way upstairs. Then all of the sudden he jumps up and starts running toward the front door, yowling his head off to go outside. Well, apparently no one got there fast enough for him because while he was waiting he decided to spray my really nice, big brown, velvet comfy chair. You know the smell, right? It's freaking noxious and I swear I have never made it across a room as fast as I did that day to open the door and chase that cat outside. I think I said some not very lady-like words while I was running him out the door.
AAUUGGHHH!!! Cat spray is one of the nastiest smells in the world, and now it was in my house!!!! The kids were freaking out, Big Man was ready to nueter the cat himself and I was trying not to gag when I remembered a can of stuff I received in the mail a few weeks prior to the spraying, so I ran into the kitchen to grab it.

So what's the moral here? People who don't get their cats neutered will eventually be victims of their own negligence. So I have made an appointment at one of the clinics to get my cat neutered. And I will drag my lazy butt out of bed at 5 a.m. to get him there so that no one has to endure his smelly spray again, although I am told that getting him neutered may not stop him from spraying, which means I'd better stock up on Clean and Green.

It’s important to me to use natural cleaning products in my home, not just for the humans in the household, but for our cats. In fact, since pets are more sensitive to chemical ingredients than humans are, making the switch was probably more beneficial to their health than our own! Of course, there was one product that I had trouble finding a suitable replacement for: Febreze.
When I decided to ditch conventiontal cleaning products, I started using linen sprays in place of Febreze. Having two cats of my own i always seem to have litter box oder problems.

Hi, it's me, Percy. It's my turn to do a post and today I am going to pretend to be Buddy at work. You all know our Buddy. He's a hound and his favorite pastime is to drag Jan down the road as he follows a scent.
Now I am not going to drag Jan around, but, yes, I am going to follow a scent to sniff out pet odors on our drapes. I don't normally go around sniffing drapes, but we do have litter pans indoors, and since it will make Jan happy ... (I hope making Jan happy will translate into treats.)
Jan is trying to use less chemicals in our house and she was just about to go to the Clean+Green site to see if they have a fabric freshener when we received an email asking if we would like to test their Furniture Refresher.

The first can they sent was probably dropped on its head in transit and it suffered some major head trauma, so Clean+Green sent us a healthy can. We Funny Farmers would test the product all by ourselves but we lack the ability to shake the can and properly point the nozzle to spray. So we have enlisted Jan's help. All she has to do is point and shoot spray. We hope she is up to the task.
Our first project was the bedroom. Buddy and Sam are wimps and like to sleep on the bed at night. I sniffed the top blanket and Jan sprayed it. Then I sniffed the drapes and Jan sprayed them. So far, so good. I might not fire her.
But what's that smell? It was a bit perplexing. The Furniture Refresher is "fragrance free'" however, there was definitely an unusual odor arising from the blanket and drapes. Not stinky, just unusual.
Next we went to the porch where the litter pans are kept. I sniffed the drapes there and then the set in the bathroom. Jan sprayed all the drapes. Again, that unusual odor.
I waited a while and then made the rounds to sniff everything again. Hmmm, they smelled much better, even the bathroom drapes which had sported a musty odor since there is no ventilation in that room.
Cotton followed behind to double-check and gave everything her paw of approval. She said I have a keen sense of smell for a youngster, which made my fur stand on end until I realized she meant young compared to her. I guess it was intended as a compliment.
What we like most about Clean+Green products is the ingredients are non-toxic and harmless to pets and people: And another plus is that it is non-flammable. Jan had to stop using aerosol sprays in the winter because they turned the gas space heater pilot light flames orange and occasionally extinguished one. And once they're out, she often can't relight them. But she can use Clean+Green products year round.
We couldn't test this product with the gas heat on because our budget is such that when we had a warm spell last month Jan worried about the financial waste of the space heater pilots and finally turned them off. Of course there was an immediate change in the weather but since she can't turn them on without help and they need to have the dust/hair blown out first, we have been without heat for 2 or 3 weeks.
Jan did okay spraying the drapes so we won't fire her for that, but we were certainly contemplating it this morning when it was 50F in here.

Many commercial cleaning products can be extremely toxic, and even deadly, to pets. Cats are especially susceptible since they groom themselves by licking and as a result ingest anything that comes in contact with their feet or fur.
While it’s getting easier to find natural and eco-friendly cleaning products, even in regular grocery stores, not all of these products may be safe to use around cats. In particular, stay away from products containing essential oils. Even though many manufacturers of essential oils claim that they are safe to use around cats, this is not always the case. Tea tree oil especially can be deadly to cats.
As a result, I’m always looking for “all natural” cleaners that are truly safe to use around cats. When the folks at Sea-Yu Enterprises® offered to send me a couple of their Clean+Green® cleaners to test, I was more than happy to accept.
Sea-Yu’s eco-friendly cleaning products are made from organic and biodegradable ingredients. They’re even packaged in recyclable containers. Their ingredients are labeled “cosmetics safe”, and they disclose the ingredients on their website. The only thing I didn’t like was the ”proprietary blend of botanical extracts.” I understand that companies need to protect their unique formulas, but I would prefer to see a complete list of ingredients.
I tested the carpet & upholstery product on my off-white carpet, and while I didn’t have any fresh stains to test it on (and I wasn’t about to ask Allegra to create some for me especially for this product test!), I used it on some very old stains of indeterminate origin (most likely source: cat vomit). Even though I try to avoid chemically based cleaners, I had used everything from Resolve® to OxyClean® to hydrogen peroxide without making much of a difference. A couple of treatments with Clean+Green’s carpet & upholstery cleaner, and much to my surprise, the stains actually disappeared. You can’t ask for an easier application: just spray and allow the area dry. No need for scrubbing or blotting.
And the best part? The product is completely unscented. I don’t like scented cleaning products of any kind, whether they’re chemically based or natural, and I’m guessing if cats had their say, they’d prefer unscented products, too.
They also sent me the furniture refresher product. I can’t say that I’ve ever had any need for a product to refresh my furniture – I’m thinking that’s more of an issue with dogs than it is with cats. So the most I can say about my experience with it is that it, too, meets my requirement for being completely scent-free.
Y’all know how it is, you get busy and you forget to do something pretty important, right? Well, I did just that. A while back I won some Clean+Green Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner from my friends at Missy, KC, Faith, Sol, Smokey and BJ and Caren at Cat Chat.
Let me tell you up front that we were just a wee bit skeptical, because with five of us things happen, and they happen on the carpet too. Our Dad used something else which meant spraying, scrubbing, spaying some more and scrubbing some more, followed by vacuuming and cleaning again.
Hey, this stuff not only works, it works great! Dad just sprays a little on and vacuums it up when it dries. No more stain! Not only that, we had a lot of success on tough stains that have been around for a while. If you’ve got critters you should give this stuff a try, we like it lots! I received the furniture refresher and litter box odor eliminator & cleaner to try and I can’t say enough about them. The litter box refresher is absolutely amazing. Anyone that has a cat with a litter box knows that litter boxes stink regardless of what you do (clean it everyday or not). With the Clean+Green Litter Box Odor Eliminator & Cleaner all you do is spray directly onto the litter and viola! the smell is gone. I have been really impressed with this product and highly recommend it to anyone that has cats in their homes.

Since we had some spots from vomit on our carpet from a previous cat that had passed away, I figured it would be a really good test since we buried him 5 years ago. When I received the can, I tried it out on the most obvious one and in seconds it totally eliminated it.
The problem was that the spot was now lighter than the silver-toned carpet around it. The carpet is almost 10 years old. So, I decided to spray lightly around that area, brushed it around, and it cleaned up the darker dirty look instantly. The can says you don't need to use a brush and I certainly didn't to remove the spots ... but I wanted to have a broader sweep of it and the brush helped to disperse it to a larger area.
I felt addicted. I did all the spots left from the kitty, and then attacked a traffic path area that looked dark and dingy. It's at the entrance to the kitchen from the living room and also where the deck entry door is. It gets a lot of traffic and it showed. But after lightly spraying and then brushing it in the whole area looked new.
From there I headed back to our bedroom where the kitty had a few more spots. I cleaned them up with the last of the can's contents. About that time I remembered I was going to take before and after photos. I went back out to the living room and took a photo of the high traffic area that had cleaned up looking like it was new carpet. That is the photo I've included. I also zoomed in for a closeup of it so you can see it at close range.
We tried quite a variety of carpet cleaners to clean up those stains when the cat made them ... and also after he was buried. Nothing took the full stain out. Everything else just partially cleaned up the stain.

They sent me a can of Auto spray also for odors and stains. We have no pet stains in the car, but almost a year ago we were hiking in a muddy area and I got into the car and got mud all over the carpet on the passenger side because the floor mat had moved up. It's orange clay-colored and has been quite unsightly. So, when the heat wave leaves us, we'll be cleaning that up too. I will remember to get a before and after on that one. More to come ....

As many of you know, I am a therapy kitty and I also believe in therapy for the Earth. Last month, I got a sample of "Clean + Green" Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner for Kitty . Just in time, because we just moved to a new place with white carpets and got a new fancy, fancy couch and parents were a bit afraid about pet messes. We are usually very clean kitties so we do not have many messes, and we can say that this guy cleaned my sister's hairball mess from our white carpet very nicely! Both paws up! Best of all it is all-natural, eco-friendly, and pet safe. We had problems before finding a spray can that is eco-friendly and does a good job like the harsh chemicals, and this does even better. :)

The nice folks at Clean + Green sent us a can of their carpet and upholstery cleaner, made especially for pet stains. As you can imagine, we have our share of those. Oddly, we received the can a few weeks back and there has been no VOMIT, POOP, or PEE in the meantime (well, not in any inappropriate places, that is – otherwise we’d explode).
Luckily, just as mama was about to give up, this appeared courtesy of Kafka (yes, it’s cat puke):
And he was kind enough to “produce” on the off-white carpeting that covers our place. Purrfect. So we first cleaned up the “extra” bits per the instructions, and then soaked the new stain:
After waiting for about 15 minutes, most of the stain was gone, with no scrubbing:

The stain was almost completely gone. And mama can confirm that the smell was gone as well.
At the get-go, we weren’t expecting much. Mama has tried almost every product out there that claims to get rid of pet-related stains. We were really pleasantly surprised.
This product worked really well on fresh stains – it was a bit more challenged by older ones (yes, we have a few of those around as well). It definitely faded them (even one that wasn’t pet-related) and didn’t do any damage to the rug itself which was great. The can itself is large but empties rather quickly (after soaking the one new stain 2x and trying out 5 smaller older stains), but maybe mama soaked them more than necessary – if you have a lot of stains to remove, definitely get more than one can. I’d say that this was a really tough test for this product, as our carpet is both lightly colored and fuzzy and therefore difficult to clean (I can hear mama whining about it now), and it performed well and as advertised.
The bottom line is that Clean + Green is a definite Buy Me product, super to have around for “accidents” – especially ones that you find quickly. It’s completely safe and non-toxic for pets (a BIG plus), and I saw some at my local pet store the last time I was there. Take a look for yourself at their website, you can buy online too!
I love having cats. I *hate* having cat boxes. It doesn’t matter how much you clean them – unless you do it every time they use it, it’s gonna stink.
We have 2 cats. That means we have TWICE the stink. So when I was offered the chance to review a product that promised to take the stink away, well – I was dubious to say the least. Nothing short of sending someone over to change the box every hour or so would help, I thought.

There was another product, though, that I was sent to review along with Clean+Green Litter Box – CLEAN+GREEN – Carpet & Upholstery for Cats.
This one promised to take care of stains. Every rug in our house is this cream/tan color. Therefore, every rug has one stain or another, either from the cats or the kids. Sure enough, after a rather unfortunate incident involving cats and well… a stain on the floor, I grabbed the can of and, following the directions, sprayed as though the cats lives depended on it – and in a way, it did) – by the time hubby came home, the stain was gone.
So that was pretty cool – but here’s an even cooler – nay- AWESOMER example of it’s cleaning power.
One morning, my youngest (who was 2 at the time) had wandered into the kitchen before coming in to say hi to me when he got up. He came in to say hi to me CARRYING A CONTAINER OF SPAGHETTI SAUCE. You guessed it. It fell. On. the. rug. The rug that carries a very hefty damage deposit on it. I was beside myself, because obviously we can NOT afford to lose that security deposit because I wasn’t paying attention to my toddler!
I had made this sauce from scratch, so I knew there was also hamburger fat in there from the meatballs, along with the very heavy tomato sauce. I was in trouble. BIG trouble.
First, I grabbed a warm towel and some dish washing liquid. That didn’t work. Then I grabbed the scrub brush. That didn’t work. Finally, I grabbed the Clean+Green Carpet & Upholstery cleaner and sprayed as my last hope. It took some of the stain out, but by then, I was resigned to being out another thousand dollars.
It wasn’t until later – when hubby came home and the stain, although lighter, was still there that I realized I really was in trouble.
A few days later, I walked into my room. I walked back out and back in, trying to figure out what was different.
Then I yelled for my oldest son. HE couldn’t believe it. I couldn’t believe it. The stain – there was actually 4 or 5 different spots where the sauce had literally BOUNCED out of the container – they were all gone. G O N E. Talk about a lifesaver! Talk about AMAZING. I’d even considered taking pictures of the stain to blog about it, but after I saw that it wasn’t working, I didn’t want to be reminded. Now I’m sorry I didn’t because it was a great example of a product in action.
As far as I’m concerned, Clean+Green products will be in my arsenal for years to come. Being an all natural solution to just a few of life’s sticky, stinky problems is what got it in the door – but being an EFFECTIVE solution is what will keep it in my cupboard.

When I was contacted by the manufacturers of Clean & Green to do a review, I didn't know quite what to expect. An earth-friendly aerosol? It sounded like an oxymoron. As Starla is having litterbox issues right now, we had the perfect test house for their litterbox odor eliminator, so I requested that one to test.
At first glance, it looks like an ordinary aerosol can. However, there are no harmful products or byproducts, the propellant is nitrogen, and it is safe to use around pets without additional cleanup afterwards! Just shake, spray, and rub in with a cloth! It's very easy to use, smells great, and degrades into gas and water after cleaning.
Starla had just peed outside the box, so I cleaned up the urine then sprayed the Litterbox Odor Eliminator on the wood floor and the wall. Immediately, the smell in the air was gone, and within five minutes most of the smell on the floor was gone. I rubbed the product in with a washcloth, waited about 20 minutes, then smelled the floor. No urine smell at all! It had all been taken care of!
This product works better than Nature's Miracle for wood floors, and eliminates the odor in the air as well as the surface odors, so is twice as effective with less product. I am very happy with the Clean & Green Litterbox Odor Eliminator, and will definitely order it in the future.

Hi there! I've been a bit of a mess this past week. It poured down rain and mom and dad FORGOT about me for 10 hours minutes and I got soaking wet. Not that I can't handle it, but I think I deserve better than that. Mom said it was my fault for insisting on going out in the rain, but shouldn't she be protecting me from that? Even if I'm doing machine paws on the door insisting to go out, shouldn't she stop me?
Anyway, I cried and pouted and mom felt sorry for me and wrapped me in a towel and dried me off and carried me around like a baby. I kind of liked it.
I had to give up my share of attention for Jonesie's birthday yesterday. I'm glad to see all friends here, but they were fussing over her...not me. So not fair!

The carpet cleaner worked really well and we even tried it out on some stains contributed by Daddykitty (ie: drink spill spots, dirt tracked in from shoes) and the Blurp (ie: old projectile stains, food dropping stains, milk spills). The Blurp even gave a special contribution by tinkling on the carpet while she wuz runnin' around nekid after her bath time. The carpet cleaner cleaned up ALL these stains well, and we couldn't smell any ickyness or toxic smells afterwards!
Sabi: Next , we cleaned up da litter boyz box (and you know how messy us boyz can be). Again, the odor was completely gone. So, we would gladly endorse these 2 specific products.

We had to move my desk recently. Now instead of being in the nice big office I’m in a corner in the kitchen. Hopefully I can move back to the office in September when school starts and Charlie goes to pre-K. But for now I sit with sun shining all around, the kids playing next to me on one side and the kitty litter pan on the other side. Yeah not so sweet smelling all the time. By now you all know I have three cats; Pumpkin, Stinky and Sherpa. Pumpkin and Stinky are indoor/outdoor cats and Sherpa is indoor. That means I have a litter box. I have had cats almost all my life and I have been through all the litter box inventions there are. I am happy with the product I am using now but this post is not about cat litter. It is about cat litter box odor.
Stinky was not originally named Stinky. She got her name 'cause you know when she is in the box. If the name were not already taken I think Sherpa might become SuperStinky. Boy can that cat smell up the trailer. I cannot wait 'til we get in the house and I can put the box in the basement.
I was contacted by the nice people at Clean and Green® to try a couple of their eco-friendly animal products - one of them being their Litter Box Refresher. With the way Sherpa stinks up the place I was all for some refreshing - I mean who would think a cute little kitten like this could stink like he does, but I am telling you if you had a stink-o-meter on your computer you would go running for the hills!
I followed the directions - go me - and I found that the super stink really mellowed out. What a wonderful thing when you are living in 400sq ft and you have a smell that takes up 2,000sq ft. Woo hoo for the refresher!

Now for our review:
Daddy usually complains after Mommy cleans cause he doesn't like the smell of the cleaning products she uses. But he didn't complain at all when Mommy used these. They have a very pleasant scent, even we cats and dogs don't object to it. Mommy likes it cause she says it is safe for the environment. We has to say the Litter Box Cleaner was a real life saver as her Majesty Queen Scylla refused to use the litter box after Artemisia had used it until Artemisia's stinky new kid scent was removed. We thoughts it did a such a good job on our litter-boxes we had Mommy spray some in the stinky garbage can in the laundry room, it smells lots better now.
We had Mommy use the Wood & Tile on both the laminated floor (Wilson Art) in the entryway (where Artemisia's litter box is now) and the tile in the master bathroom (where Artemisia's litter-box was when they first brought her home) and all offensive lingering odors were removed and the floor looks nice to boot. Since these products were doing such a bang up job we thoughts we would give it a really hard test; the wet dog smell in Mommy's car (aka The Fenmobile), so we sent her to clean the car with the Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner. We are happy to report it smells lots better now. We really likes these products and we hopes the Mom will keep using them.

We've been asked by Sea-Yu the makers ofClean&Greento try their products and do a review. They make eco-friendly products to remove household odors and for stain clean up for small animals and, believe me, with four of us here, there's always something to clean up! Their products are sold at their website, at Amazon and according to the store locator on their site, at Petco and PetSmart.
We chose our test items from a complete line of products for upholstery, carpets/floors, cars, concrete, animal cages/litterboxes, etc. and got two products to try - one for floors and one for litterboxes and here's our review of each. Their products will also work on household odors from diaper pails, shoes, clothes hampers, trash cans and cigarette smoke.
Wood & Tile - We have wood laminate floors in the living/dining room and the two bedrooms on the first floor. The kitchen, family room & halls have vinyl and the bathroom has porcelain tile. When we vomit food or hairballs, it leaves a ring/stain on the wood laminate. Mom's been worried about using a product that would damage the wood so she cleans up after us with plain water that doesn't always remove the rings or stains in the tile grout.
Review - Rather than spraying directly on the wood floor and saturating it, Mom sprayed it on a paper towel, then dabbed it on 3 vomit rings left on the wood laminite with excellent results. The spray removed the rings and didn't discolor the finish. After giving a good whiff, there is no lingering odor.
Litterbox - Well, what can I say. We all know what litterbox odor smells like. Our main box is in the utility room closet and the second domed one is outside the basement door. We won't discuss the two basement boxes today, but it stinks down. Maye you should have tried the product for concrete, Mom.
Review - Mom likes the fact that the spray doesn't mask odors with a flowery smell like some other so-called odor-removing sprays, which don't work. Clean&Green leaves no chemical smell in the air, which bothers Dad's asthma. She scooped our main box, vacuumed the surrounding floor, then sprayed the box, the floor, baseboards and closet. She sprayed inside our second domed box and checked both areas 10 minutes later. No odors!!!
She was so impressed she also sprayed the bathroom, under the kitchen sink and in their bedroom with good results, even though our trial items weren't the recommended product for those areas. (Clean&Green recommends furniture or carpet refresher.) At about $9.00 per can (on their website), it seemed a tad pricey at first glance, but for a product that works well it's worth it, and the cans are not small. They do offer free shipping for on-line orders over $30.00.
We are very pleased with the performance of these products and Mom will be checking Petco and PetSmart for prices and availability. She also likes the fact that, as eco-friendly products, they're safe for us and our former-blurpy-now-sticky Girl to be around.

I love my pets, really I do, but I hate mess and smell that can sometimes accompany them. I have tried numerous chemical filled products to control odors between litter changes and I mostly only succeed at killing everyone with thick perfume smells.
Isn’t she just adorable? Yea.. well.. we have 3 of those little fuzzballs, and Clean+Green provided us an eco-friendly option for keeping their litter area fresh.
We were given the opportunity to test out the cat litter box product. The ingredients in this product are simple; sugar cane derivatives, proprietary botanical extracts and hydrated cellulose, purified water and nitrogen propellant. There is no smell associated with the product. All you need to do is lightly spray your litter box and area around your little box daily when you do your normal cleaning. Of course they have tons of other products for the carpet and upholstery as well as your wood and tile.
We truly loved this product because it works! It is simple to use and there are no harsh chemicals that will affect my kitty or my family. It is probably the best pet product I have tried to date!! We will continue to purchase the product and I look forward to trying it out on our new pets.. parakeets! Yikes!! You've got to read about their De-skunk Coat Cleaner, we actually have skunks around here and they will spray! I've told all my friends about this because tomato baths only go soo far and do you really want to wash your pet in a bathtub of tomato sauce? Even if you get sprayed this is safe for you to use! Its lab tested to remove 100% of that stinky skunky smell! Don't try to get sprayed though to test that theory but it does help that this product is available if you need it! Great idea to gift to someone going camping.
I was able to personally review the CAT - Carpet & Upholstery Odor Eliminator, Cleaner & Stain Remover. I will tell you it does all of that all in one can! This was a miraculous invention for sure! My cat Leo had started spraying and the smell is horrible, as anyone who hasn't neutured their cat would know! Not only did it get rid of the smell, also the stains, because he got mad at me one night and actually urinated on my bed (I know yuck yuck) the stains were right out of the mattress and it no longer smelled of cat urine! I did put a mattress cover over my mattress after that though to kind of prevent him from trying again!

You may remember in July we introduced you to a great company called Clean+Green though a giveaway we held for them. Well, we got a chance to try one of their products for ourselves recently, and loved it! They sent us the cage cleaner and odor remover for bird cages.
For those of you who don’t have birds, or may not know this about them, birds have sensitive respiratory systems. They are quiet sensitive to a lot of common household fumes, including many cleaners and especially Teflon fumes. So when you clean their cages it’s very important to use products that are safe to ensure that your pet stays healthy.
Clean+Green is a product that cleans safely, and without toxins. It actually works on contact and can be sprayed on and then left to dry. You can also use it, then wipe it off if you want to. I sprayed then wiped so I could remove some dried on mess. It worked wonders. I can tell that it would work without wiping though too, especially if you don’t need to do a major scrub down of the cage.

Buddy: We have finished testing Clean + Green and we're ready to write our review. We had to lock Jan out of the house in order to write it. She thinks SHE tested it, but as we have said before, this is our blog, her opinion doesn't matter.

Crystal: As you know, or should know, we kitties do not like to use a dirty litter box. We would all prefer to have our own but Jan refuses to move to a house large enough to support 13 litter boxes.
Cameron: Why do we need 13. I thought there are only 6 of us.
Cotton: There are. As Crystal gets older, he wants the convenience of having multiple boxes around the house so he doesn't have far to go. I mean, so he doesn't have far to walk.
Rusty: Crystal's sense of smell has diminished but the rest of us don't want to smell the litter box. So Jan sprayed the litter and the surrounding area occasionally .
Cyndi: Yeah, something about a certain kitty likes to stand up instead of squat down when he pees.
Percy, speaking rapidly: Don't have any idea who that could be. Let's move along. We have decided we like the Clean + Green Litter Box spray for eliminating odors in the litter box and surrounding area.
Sam: Now we get to do the Carpet & Upholstery overview. We haven't had any accidents on the carpet but there are enough of us that vomiting is a normal pastime, especially among the feline persuasion.
Merci: The Clean + Green did a good job of eliminating odor, cleaning and removing stains in the carpet. Wonder if it would have worked on Jan's checkbook? But we don't do clean-up, just throw-up.
JFF: We all agree that Clean + Green is a product we'd like to have around the house. Jan thinks its best feature is that all the ingredients are non-toxic and harmless to pets. We would agree with her but Jan isn't allowed to give an opinion in our review. However, we do feel better knowing Jan isn't poisoning us when she uses it around our home.

I’ve been known to spoil my cats. I can’t go to a pet store without buying a cool toy or treat for them. For example, my last trip to PetSmart was JUST to get some cat food. I left with cat food, litter, two scratching posts, and three bags of cat treats. There is one area, however, where I do not spoil my cats – and that’s with regards to the litter box. I know we’re supposed to keep the litter box nice and clean and filled with fresh litter. While I scoop twice or three times a day, I can only bring myself to do a complete clean (as in dump old litter, wash litter box, refill with brand new litter) every 6-7 days. FOR SHAME!
So I couldn’t really blame anyone but myself when Hobbes started “using” the floor next to the litter box. He’s very sensitive to smells and is a complete fresh litter snob. If there isn’t a mound of freshly poured litter, he won’t use the litter box. I would come home at the end of a long day’s work with a nice “surprise” on the bathroom floor.
Then, a pet-cleaning hero swept in, offering me the chance to test out two Clean+Green Pet Cleaning Products. I feel guilty just thinking about the number of times I used Clorox wipes to clean the area around the litter box.
I’ll admit, that I’ve often been skeptical of all-natural products. I think the scientific side of me kicks in and thinks “if it doesn’t smell like alcohol, then it isn’t really clean.” Once I received my samples, it was time to put Clean+Green Pet Cleaning Products to the test.
The Litter Area. I know when you see the picture, you’re going to think, “What the hey? Is that a bowl full of litter in the toilet bowl?” Yes, it is. I am trying to toilet train my cats. If you’re laughing at me, then I’ll get the last laugh in 6 months when you’re still scooping litter and my cats are epically using the toilet with the automatic flusher that I have ready to be installed on their graduation day. Until then, my litter BOWL still has the same problems as a litter BOX. To the left is what I jokingly call the “large intestine” aka The Litter Locker. It’s what I use to scoop into so I don’t have to run to the trash can twice a day. You just scoop, turn to fresh plastic, scoop, turn to fresh plastic, and then once it’s full, make one trip to toss.
The Reviews:
First up, the Litter Box Odor Eliminator and Cleaner. Do you remember a few paragraphs back when I mentioned that Hobbes is a litter snob? I tried this product with the hopes that I could trick him into thinking that the nice pile of litter (that was really only used once by Daisy) is actually brand new fresh litter. First I scooped the litter into a pile, and then I did two quick sprays of the Litter box Odor Eliminator. The first time I sprayed the can, it spooked the cats but they got used to the sound quickly. Interestingly, I think that the Clean+Green product also eliminates the fake “fresh” smell that comes with the litter. There’s no inherent smell to the Litter Box Odor Eliminator, but it still took the cats about a day to adjust to the change. I also used the cleaner while I was doing a full litter change. After dumping the litter, I sprayed the bowl a few times and wiped it clean. I’ve actually sniffed the bowl after cleaning and my nose can’t detect ANY smells whatsoever. The cats also were much quicker to use the bowl after cleaning then when I was using the Clorox wipes. (With Clorox, Daisy kept trying to bury the smell by pawing the edges of the toilet. With the Clean+Green Litter Box product, she just hops right in.)
Verdict: After the first day, the cats were using the litter bowl as if it had new litter. Hobbes only “used” the floor once, and that was when the bowl was “full” since I’d forgotten to scoop it earlier in the morning. I’ve since expanded my use to spraying this inside the litter locker as well to further reduce any smells. I highly recommend this product to cat owners.
When Hobbes “used” the floor, that was my chance to test out the Wood & Tile Odor Eliminator, Cleaner and Stain Remover. I’m not sure if you can tell, but the floor in the litter area is tiled. I can’t go into quite as much description on this product since the litter product did such a good job. What I can say is that with a couple of sprays of the wood & tile cleaner, I was able to wipe away a few remaining pieces of solid waste, leaving the area completely clean. It did not leave any chemical smells or residue on the tile.
Verdict: Although I didn’t get a chance to test it on wood, I will say that this product cleaned my tile floor completely. I will be using it to clean the floor (and also to wipe down the sides and seat of the toilet) each time I “deep clean” the bathroom.
Overall, I was VERY happy with how well the Clean+Green Pet Cleaning Products performed. I loved how I was able to get a virtually odor-free and clean environment without any chemicals that could harm the cats.

We have four cats and a dog. I'm always doing my best to keep the litter box clean. Every time someone "goes" either myself or my husband are right on top of it to clean it out. If not I'm sure our home would smell like a zoo. It's bad enough with the dog and his smells, like when he gets wet from the rain (wet dog is NOT a pleasant smell).
The litter box is the worst. I hate cleaning it out. We make sure to clean it out completely (as in remove all the litter) at least once a week and wash out the pan. It's not a fun job but someone has to do it. Usually we use soap and hot water and then spray it with Lysol.
A while back (and I do mean a while...read on to find out why) I received some products from a company called Sea-Yu (www.Sea-Yu.com). The products are from their Clean + Green product line. We relieved both a Litter Box Odor Eliminator & Cleaner as well as a Carpet & Upholstery cleaner, odor eliminator and stain remover.
I used the Litter Box Cleaner right away, so I have an immediate need to keep the litter box clean. You can use the Litter Box Cleaner one of two ways. You can either spray the product over the litter after you have scooped out the mess to eliminate the odors. You can also empty out the litter box, wash out the pan and then spray with the product and wipe it until it's dry.
According to the site and the packaging the product is non-toxic, non-corrosive, non-flamable, non-carcinogenic and 100% biodegradable. I was a bit concerned that it's an aerosol, since I know that it's bad for the environment. As per the packaging and the site the nitrogen propellant (aerosol) is non-flamable and eco-friendly. Seems odd to think about that, an aerosol as "eco-friendly" but since I am not a scientist I have to go with what I'm told.
As far as how it worked and how it smelled it worked as to be expected. The product is not have added fragrances, so it doesn't smell like a forest of roses after you spray it. It's NOT an air freshener but rather a product to absorb and eliminate odors. It does have a scent. Try as I might I can't think of a good description of it other then it smells like wood in a way (not REALLY but that is the closest scent I can think of to it).
So far, so good. No complaints. Anything that keeps my home from smelling like the Zoo is great in my book. Products that are not going to be harmful to my family or my pets is even better.
About my comment above about receiving the products a while back. I did! Weeks ago. But one of the products sent to me, the carpet cleaner, I haven't had a chance to use. Mind you I do have four cats and a dog. SOMEONE is throwing something up at some point. We used to have a cat who threw up so much our carpet was covered in red spots (he was a sickly cat). Of course now that I have a product to test on pet stains NO ONE wants to toss their cookies on the carpet for me. Ha Ha. Not that I minded. I rather NOT have to clean the carpet. They have thrown up a few times (hair balls, miscellaneous stuff I cannot identify, grass...) but it's been on the wood floor, not the carpet.
FINALLY on Friday my dog threw up. NOT that I'm excited about that. Apparently he inhaled his dog food and didn't chew a morsel of it because it was a whole mouthful of un-chewed canned dog food mixed with grass. My dog eats EVERYTHING under the sun when he's outside. Grass, dirt, sticks, rocks and his personal favorite, gum that people disgustingly just toss aside on the ground.
Anyway...
Finally! A chance to use the Carpet Cleaner from Clean + Green. It's an aerosol too. It comes out as a thick steam and then gets foamy.
As per the instructions it says to spray. There is no need to soak, scrub o rinse. I did wipe up as much of the puke that I could. Then I sprayed the cleaning product on it and just waited and watched. It says you don't have to do a thing.
Honestly I wasn't too keen on that. For one you NEED to scrub some stains. You can't just leave the residue from puke on your carpet. It has to be cleaned off completely before spraying anything on it to help with odors. I also have the four cats and a dog and we live in a tiny place. I can't just stand there and wait for it to dry. I am afraid the animals will lick it or step in it and then lick their paws.
The Carpet Cleaner does help with odors in the carpet too. I'm not sure in this case I needed that. I have yet to have anyone throw anything up that smelled. If the dog pooped on the carpet, then most certainly I'd need something to eliminate the odor. The carpet cleaner also has the same "wood" like scent.
Over all I am happy with the Clean + Green Litter Box Cleaner. It works well. As for the Carpet Cleaner, I guess I need more then one event to test it out on. My concern with the Carpet Cleaner is waiting for it to dry. That is not a huge issue, but when you are busy sitting around watching the carpet dry is not exactly an ideal thing to do.

I use lots of different cleaning products in my home on a daily basis. Just recently I began trying to integrate green cleaning supplies in my stockpile. According to the Environmental Protection Association (EPA), typical household cleaning products and air fresheners are one of the leading contributors to poor indoor air quality. The agency reports that poor indoor air quality can lead to health issues that manifest soon after exposure or, possibly, years later.
As a "pet mom" of a beautiful black boxer named Kobe and a fat cat named Angel I know how important it is to clean up those little messes as soon as they happen. When my dog was a puppy, he liked to go to the bathroom NEXT to the puppy pads...sigh. I can't even begin to imagine all the harsh chemicals that have been sprayed, spritzed and rubbed into my carpet.

One spray to get the spot damp and then once its dry its gone. It's like magic! I love not having to break out the scrub brush. On occasion my dog will have an accident on the carpet and the spray works just as well on his urine and the smell disappears. If the odor returns after the spot you sprayed dried then the urine reached the padding. In order for the smell to go away the pad must also be treated.
Since I was so thrilled with the 2 products I reviewed I recently made my way to Wal-Mart and purchased the Litter Box
Odor Eliminator and Cleaner. I was so sick of the powder stuff I had been using so it was a refreshing change. I'll definitely continue to be a pleased customer.

What can I say, except that I love CLEAN+Green!? I got to review a litter box cleaner and odor eliminator. And it works WONDERS for both! To eliminate odors, you just spray above the litter box. No need to soak it, just lightly mist it. It makes the smell go away! I clean Turbo’s cat box pretty frequently – I don’t want people to walk into my house and instantly know we have an indoor cat – but no matter how often I change it, there is a smell. Whether it be kitty stink, or litter stink, it’s always there. With this, I just spray a light coat on top of the litter after I change the box, and I can smell the difference immediately. I don't think I have mentioned this before (because it is just gross) but I think my Ceasar cat is bulimic. Maybe that isn't the problem, but there is some sort of problem that causes him to vomit on my carpet on a daily basis. Now, before you get concerned about my cat, I will say that I have brought this up with a variety of vets over the years and none of them seems concerned about it. They also don't have an explanation or a cure.
Anyway, he insists on vomiting on the carpet. I can see him getting ready to let one go and I drag him to the tile and he will hold it in until he gets back on the carpet. Or he will lurch his neck forward so his head is dangling over the carpet. He likes to make sure I have something to clean up everyday. Grrr!

I have noticed that sometimes it takes more than one application, but we find that with any carpet cleaning product.

I am going to be spraying this stuff everywhere!

I write about being "green" over on my women's blog, Lip-sticking, all the time. It's a prime interest for us gals - maybe more so than for the men in our lives. That's not to say our men are indifferent to the issue of being green, it's just that we ladies are always on the alert for products and services that are kind to Mother Earth.
Recently, via a good Twitter friend (Romeo the cat), I met Clean + Green, from SeaYu Enterprises. They were kind enough to offer me a sample of their products and I accepted. After all, Wabby Wibby is a frequent hairballer - that means she deposits hairballs all over the house, at least once or twice a week. Depending on where they end up - it can be a bear to clean them up properly!
We're talking more than just a clump of hair her body no longer wants in its tummy (one is glad for that). We're talking all the 'other' stuff that comes up with the hairball!
Well, I am openly, and honestly, giving my opinion of the Clean + Green Carpet and Upholstery cleaner (check out their blog). Since Wabby has been choosing the living room carpet for her hairball deposits, of late. I'm actually surprised to announce that it works like a charm! No disrespect to the SeaYu folks - but I was not expecting much. My agreement to try the product was based on its eco-friendliness ... not on how good it would be.
It's great! Cleaned up that hairball and the underlying "stuff" and ... wait for it... even worked on some older stains that I tried it on. My rug looks way better! I think I'm going to try it on another rug and see how well it does there (Wabby does have the run of the house, you know)...but I expect it will make that rug look fresh and clean, too.
The site shows a number of other great Clean +Green products, for auto, wood floors, furniture refreshing, litterbox odor eliminator, and de-skunking. Man, I hope I never have to use that! But, it's good to know it's there. Trust me - tomatoe juice, the tried and true method from the old days, doesn't work!

Our house is a zoo sometimes. Between little ones and critters, I'm not sure which drive me more crazy some days-and I'm really not sure which ones make more of a mess.

You have a cat? You must have this product. The CLEAN+GREEN's Litter Box Odor Eliminator & Cleaner is awesome. It's the every day all natural ozone safe aerosole spray that you use around your cat's litter box.
Think about it, there is nothing, nothing, nothing! more embarrasing than a smelling litter box. I've all been there; you've gone to a friend's house and the first thing you smell is the litter box. I'm sure you immeditately think differently about that friend and their hygiene. It can happen even if your clean your litter box every day. So be prepared.

When the Clean & Green first arrived, I was baffled by the aerosol can that contained the supposedly green cleaner. How could that possibly be considered eco-friendly?

Alrighty then. On to the product itself.
They describe it as “all natural, non-toxic, non-carcinogenic, non-corrosive, and non-flammable” and is “effective on any hydrocarbon-based substance such as a urine and feces, hairballs, vomit, skunk spray, smoke, and food odors” and it can be used on “any surface type such as wood, carpet, concrete, tile, and any fabric.”
Yep, it definitely qualifies as green in my book. It definitely can be used on any or all surfaces of my house and just about covers the common stinky dog challenges - and then some.
So, did it work?
SIL #1 was over when it first arrived. The aerosol can was sitting on my counter and she eyeballed it. She has stinky cats. Nasty, evil stinky cats that seem to avoid a litter box at all costs. I had a busy week and didn’t think I would have the opportunity to try it out personally until the weekend, so I told her she could try it out as long as she gave me her feedback and gave it right back.
So, she did. She had a stain from *ahem* cat excrement *ahem*. Gross. Here's what she said:
I am extremely impressed. I've tried resolve and nature's miracle and the stain did not go away. Finally I get my carpet back to normal.
We had a family event that weekend and SIL #2 eyeballed the Clean & Green as SIL #1 handed it back to me. She, too, has stinky cats. It was already the weekend and we had a jam packed schedule, so I told her she could try it out as long as she provided feedback. She said:

I settled for Lysol & bleach at that point - and considered burning the house down while in the thick of it. I was cursing myself for not getting the product back. Although, quiet honestly, I doubt there was enough left in the can to tackle the mess I had to clean.

I'm raising my throbbing head from my pillow to let you all know about a product I recently reviewed. The words may not be nuggets of gold as my stomach AND head are equally battling for my attention, but the products are definitely worth considering.

Even skunk? Since my cats are not that bad I figured Sea-Yu would work wonders on our pet odors. And I was right! The Litter Box Odor Eliminator & Cleaners was amazing. Our litter box is in an pretty small enclosed area so the smell can bet pretty bad sometimes. As soon as I sprayed on the Clean+Green the odor immediately disappeared. The great thing is that it wasn’t just one scent covering up another one. There was truly a clean smelling atmosphere! I even sprayed it on the nearby wall and it didn’t stain or leave any residue. It worked great!

I will be honest....
If we didn't have one animal loving little girl in our household that BEGGED and PLEADED for a pet then we probably wouldn't have one at all. Ok, WE WOULDN'T HAVE ONE!
I was never an animal lover. I mean they are OK and everything but I have three kids and a husband to clean up after. I didn't need another mess to clean up, kwim?
Needless to say, the big girl asked for a few years and we finally gave in a couple of years ago for her birthday.
(Yep, we made her wait that long 'cuz I am mean like that.) She asked for a cat so we went to the local animal shelter and rescued Mew.
In all honesty, we got lucky with Mew. She was litter trained (Thank GOD!), she only wants to eat cat food, and she is great with the kids. The only flaw MEW has is . . . .HAIR BALLS!
I never knew what hair balls were until Mew came along. I mean sure, I have heard of them but had no clue what to expect.
I will save you the icky details and just say that I AM HAIR BALL AWARE now! And when she has those "hair balls", she doesn't run to the toilet or litter box she lets them go right on my floor. . .MY CARPETED FLOOR.
If you knew me personally then you would know that I go crazy over any type of stain on my carpet.
STAINS EMBARRASS ME.

"PURRCHANCE TO DREAM" CLEAN+GREEN PART 2

My tests of Litter Box are on-going, and will report on this product later in the week. Initial results are promising.
For my tests with Carpet+Upholstery and Wood + Tile, I am using the products one day and then going back with my sniffer the next, to report to you my findings.
Yesterday, I sprayed Carpet+Upholstery around the litter box in the bedroom, and also on the drapery near that litter box. Spooker has often urinated on the carpet next to this litter box when upset with me. And long-term readers of Purrchance To Dream know that the Center of the Known Universe (aka Spooker) gets upset with me whenever any of the other Purries come into HER bedroom.
Last night when I went ot bed, my first thought upon entering the bedroom was NOT 'smells like cat pee here' but 'time to go to sleep because it does NOT smell like cat pee in here.'
Also last night, I sprayed Carpet+Upholstery on two known old Spooker urine spots onthe carpet in the living room. Previous attempts with As Seen On TV's Urine Gone did little to affect these spots. This morning when I knelt down and snifffed about a foot over the spots they were still damp, and when smelling my damp fingers, I did still smell old urine. I want to wait to see what these areas are like when fully dry, and since these spots that I have been there a while, I understand taht if repeat application is necessary to eradiate all odor.
Today, I sprayed Wood+Tile on the bathroom closet floor, where the previously leaky water heater has left a dank mildew odor. It was also sprayed around the base of the toilet. Preliminary results are positive, but I want to wait 24 hours with the closet door shut, and then take a sniff.
I must say, that when spraying all three products, teh spray does not have any harsh chemical smell, it has a not unpleasant almost-neutral aroma that dissipates quickly. So, for right now, my test are on-going, but I am pleased thus far with the results, especially with Carpet+Upholstery in the bedroom.
You all know Tillie, right? She's just the prettiest, softest, sweetest cat around, and it's a good thing she is or she wouldn't be living here any more. See, Tillie is really picky. If her litter isn't absolutely perfect, she's likely to find somewhere else to pee. Sometimes it's the boot tray by the front door or the bath mat in the bathroom, both of which aren't a big deal to clean up, but sometimes she pees on the carpet. That is definitely not a good thing, and it means we need something to clean that cat urine smell out of the carpet. That's why I jumped at the chance to try this CLEAN + green Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner. Not only is it supposed to do a really good job cleaning and eliminating odors, but it's also an all natural, pet safe, eco-friendly product. I have been trying to use more natural cleaners around the house, mainly because chemicals and smells bother me quite a bit. The question always is: Do the natural cleaners work as well as the others?
With this product the answer is definitely yes.
All you have to do is shake the can and spray it on the affected area. There's no scrubbing or rinsing required; just make sure the product comes in contact with the problem source and allow to dry. There is no added fragrance, just a pleasant natural smell which I really like. It works best when it's used right away, but I've also sprayed it on some old spots that I had used some other cleaner on. The other cleaner never completely took the smell away and left behind a scent of its own. This just seems to take the whole smell away, leaving nothing behind. An average 16 oz can provides about 20 regular applications. Mine didn't last quite that long, meaning I used more than I actually needed to, so I'll need to get some more of this soon and try not to use so much in the future. I wish Tillie would get her act together so that there was nothing to clean up in the first place, but now at least I know there's something that works.
In addition to the Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner, CLEAN + green sent me a can of the Litter Box Odor Eliminator which I hope will help Tillie want to use the litter box all the time, and a can of the Furniture Refresher which I haven't had to use yet, and I hope I don't have to, but I feel good knowing that I have it just in case.

I don’t love washing out the litter boxes – dumping the litter, washing and drying the boxes and putting new litter back in.
After years of living on wood, marble or terrazzo flooring, we moved to a fully carpeted apartment. Scooter, the youngster, loves the carpet and totally appreciates us for finding such a large scratching pad. Senior kitty Wart has frequent accidents and is not opinionated as to where. Senior pets often have problems with containment. We happily agreed to try a product that would clean up messes and eliminate the odor.

We know that in the weeks leading up to the holidays, we’re going to be running around our house doing a lot of cleaning. And we know that, while we rarely smell odors in our own home, if we have visitors who come from non-pet households, we just KNOW they can identify the location of the litterboxes as soon as they step foot in the door.
After sniffing around Miso’s usual haunts, I found that the reading chair in our spare bedroom, where Miso likes to chill out during the day, was in dire need of refreshing. Either that or we’d have to haul it outside and burn it. And I’m not exactly sure if setting furniture ablaze in the courtyard is allowed by our apartment manager, so Clean + Green Furniture Refresher seemed to be the best option. I sprayed the area that smelled the worst–something I really love about Clean + Green is that the product sprays as a fine mist, unlike other furniture refreshers I’ve used. I made sure the stinky area was fairly damp and then I waited. By the time the area I treated was dry, the smell had faded, but hadn’t gone away entirely, so I tried again, spraying more generously this time. The second time definitely did the trick. Kitty stank bum had been defeated!

When Hobbes “used” the floor, that was my chance to test out the Wood & Tile Odor Eliminator, Cleaner and Stain Remover. I’m not sure if you can tell, but the floor in the litter area is tiled. I can’t go into quite as much description on this product since the litter product did such a good job. What I can say is that with a couple of sprays of the wood & tile cleaner, I was able to wipe away a few remaining pieces of solid waste, leaving the area completely clean. It did not leave any chemical smells or residue on the tile.
